Extra- Christmas and New Year Backlog!

Because I have the pleasure of living interstate from all my family, I am in the incredibly lucky siutation that I can do whatever I want during the Christmas+New Year holiday/”shut down” period. And because I spend 50 weeks of the year working like a madman, this year I decided to spend it doing as little as possible and watching anime. Notably, I decided to test out the AnimeLab platform. Which is fine as far as streaming platforms go. If you want “legit access” to anime I’d put it above crunchyroll.

Anyway I watched/rewatched a bunch of fantastic shows and have some thoughts about them. Some more than others: Continue reading “Extra- Christmas and New Year Backlog!”

GAMMA.CON 2018 (and Wintercon 2018) Review

Being a Canberra boy (well, more-or-less) I have a bit of a soft spot for our local conventions. Given they don’t cost any money for me to go to, are within 20 minutes driving distance of my house (with ample parking) and have by far the largest number of my friends/acquaintances in attendance; it’s a pretty low bar for me to be impressed.

Well, the Exhibition Centre part of the ICC (as opposed to the Convention Centre which I assume the ‘CC’ part of ICC stands for) Continue reading “SMASH 2018- TL:DR it was fine but 2019 could be great”

Spring 2018 Anime wrap up

Unfortunately, as they more or less say in Jurassic park, life finds a way to get in the way of watching anime.

Specifically, I was away with family no internet for about four months so started the Spring 2018 season super late. That being said, I somehow managed to catch up and finish all the shows worth watching. So here’s some thoughts that definitely follow the same format as my other wrap ups: Continue reading “Spring 2018 Anime wrap up”

Winter 2017/2018 wrap up

What a season. So many shows that I’ve watched with one eye while writing emails and doing other admin paperwork. Thank *deity* that I’ve been pretty sick the last week and thus at reduced mental capacity and  able to tolerate some of the shows I persisted in watch.

Here’s my category by category breakdown. Definitely the same categories I used for previous seasons. Continue reading “Winter 2017/2018 wrap up”
